Spiritual Companion, Educator, Innovator
I grew up as a “hidden” wounded child. I only revealed the truth about my history when I wrote my book. I was sexually abused by a cousin at 6, physically abused by an “aunt” at 7, and further abused by a Christian Brother at the age of 9. Result? I learned to struggle between two worlds – the broken part within and the external world as part of a wonderful family of 9 children. No one knew the interior struggle. As confusing as it was, it made me extremely empathetic.
In High School a Jesuit told us the love story of the suffering Jesus. I fell in love with Jesus Christ and never turned back. I joined the Religious of the Assumption at 18. There I found that education was my place. But, most important, I discovered my lifelong passion for mysticism beginning with the visions of Julian of Norwich.
From my heart, I deeply desire that those who listen to these podcasts and discussions will find some light … and maybe feel their way to their own ONEING wading through their own darkness. I try to bring the intellectual discussions of theology into the field of everyday life but always within the perspective of spirituality that is beyond religion.
The woundedness of my childhood became the door to my “ONEING” … and what a journey! We need to embrace our brokenness because vulnerability is the portal to inner freedom and true love.
